We divide our academic program into four stages in line with ADEC stages of education:
- Kindergarten a two-year program (KG1 & KG2)
- Elementary a five-year program (Grades 1-6)
- MiddleSchool a three-year program (Grades 7-9)
- HighSchool a four-year program (Grades 10-12)
During Grades 9-12, FIA students follow an American curriculum as they work towards the High School Diploma, which allows them to join top international universities around the world as well as in the UAE.
As an American curriculum school, we teach all subjects through the medium of English Language. The exceptions are Arabic Language, Islamic Education and Social Studies Arabic which follow the Ministry Curriculum, and are taught in Arabic.
Arabic Language is taught both as a First Language for Arabs and as a Second Language for Non Arabs. As an additional language, beginning in grade 3 upwards, we offer French. Our Non-Muslim students follow a General Studies Course called "Life Skills" in place of Islamic Studies, with exception of Filipino Students studying Filipino Language. To complement their academic studies, all students take Art, PE and Music in KG and Art & PE from Grades 1-11.
Most teachers teach at least two different grades within one subject area as well as offering support within the advisory program and/or helping to organize and support extracurricular activities.
